Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response attempts to address both views on stress and the student's own opinion, but the text is incomplete and significantly underdeveloped, breaking off midway through the body paragraphs. Furthermore, the response falls well short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 196 words. This results in a direct penalty to Task Achievement, as parts of the prompt are only superficially touched upon, and ideas are not fully explored or supported with relevant evidence. While the introduction outlines a clear intention to discuss both views, the lack of completion prevents the essay from fully meeting the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The essay suffers from severe organizational and structural issues. Paragraphing is highly irregular, featuring sudden shifts to capitalized text and disconnected fragments (e.g., 'NOW DUE TO WIDESPREAD MEDIA...'). Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, and the logical progression breaks down entirely in the second half of the essay. There is no clear overall progression or structure, and referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text (e.g., 'probelms', 'oversttaed', 'viws', 'represnt', 'peopel', 'ware', 'isues', 'INSTAGRAMS', 'POPEL', 'MNTAL', 'SHWOING', 'ACHEIEVEMENTS', 'COMPETIOTION', 'HOWEREVR', 'OPEL', 'WRERE', 'FULFILL'). While the student attempts some topic-related terms like 'anxiety and depression', the high frequency of spelling errors and limited lexical range restrict the score to this band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors that occasionally impede communication. There are noticeable subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'mental health probelms... is pointed'), punctuation and capitalization errors (e.g., abrupt shifts to ALL CAPS), and missing words or awkward phrasing (e.g., 'they cope with it because the concept of suffering and victimization didnt exist', 'MAY BE THEY WRERE JUST LIKE FEEL FULFILL IN THEIR LIVES'). Complex sentence forms are attempted but are frequently faulty, and simple sentences dominate.
