Some people believe that stress is now regarded as major problem today but some says that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response is significantly under-length, containing only 208 words against the required minimum of 250 words, which severely impacts task completion. While the student attempts to discuss both views regarding stress in past and present generations, the development is extremely limited and repetitive. The argument shifts confusingly between stating that past generations had more stress due to a lack of facilities and wars, and then contradicting itself or restating points without clear extension. Furthermore, the student fails to complete their own opinion as the essay trails off mid-sentence with "in my opinion these view ar". This lack of a fully articulated position and insufficient elaboration severely restricts the score under Task Achievement, resulting in a band 4.0 assessment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The essay is divided into three brief paragraphs, but the organizational structure breaks down completely as the response remains unfinished. While basic cohesive devices and transitional phrases are attempted, such as "However, others feel" and "Those people who think", referencing is often repetitive and confusing. Paragraphing is poorly handled, particularly with the truncated final paragraph which consists of only an incomplete introductory phrase. The logical progression of ideas is hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of coherent transitions between the contrasting viewpoints, leading to a weak overall structure that merits a band 4.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used throughout the essay is basic, repetitive, and limited in range. The student relies heavily on simple terms and phrases like "major problem", "work hard", and "stress of earning". There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as "ccorrect", "avialabitlity", and "dificulties". While the student attempts some less common vocabulary items like "facilities" and "equipment", these are often used inaccurately or repetitively. The lexical range is minimally adequate for basic communication, but the numerous errors and restricted vocabulary span result in a band 4.0 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting predominantly of simple and frequently faulty complex sentence structures. The text is marred by a high frequency of grammatical errors, including tense inconsistencies, missing articles, and incorrect prepositions, such as "in past people don't have too much facilities in past" and "stress don't leave the man". Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also mishandled, with run-on sentences and awkward phrasing. Because errors are frequent, repetitive, and occasionally obscure the intended meaning of the sentences, the performance aligns with a band 4.0 descriptor.
