In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both views and give a personal position: you explain that modern technology-related work can be stressful, then argue that earlier generations faced greater pressure because they had fewer conveniences. However, the discussion is brief and the examples are only partly explained; the claim that technology workers are more stressed is not supported with specific evidence, and the conclusion ends with “[main reason]” rather than completing the explanation. The response also contains 217 words, so it is 33 words below the required minimum; 19 words copied from the prompt were not counted. This limits the development of your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain each example and give a complete, consistent reason for your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “In the other band” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the technology example moves from development to workers’ stress and then to a “positive impact” without explaining the connection. Some linking phrases are repeated or used awkwardly, and the final sentence is incomplete, which weakens the overall ending. Use clearer topic sentences and make each example lead logically to its result. Check that pronouns and linking expressions clearly connect to the ideas they refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “public discussion,” “pressure,” “development,” and “previous generations,” and the reader can generally identify the intended comparison. However, the range is basic and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “nowdays,” “more stressful that past,” and “the finale products.” Repetition of “stressful” and “stress” also limits precision. Aim to learn accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, describe people as “experiencing greater stress” rather than “more stressful,” and use “earlier generations” consistently. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the contrast between modern pressures and past hardships.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “as a result,” but most sentence patterns are simple and errors occur frequently. These include agreement and verb-form problems in “previous generations was more stressful,” “people must walk,” and “the childrens too must to walk.” Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “in technologie domaine” and the run-on opening after “generations.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, modal verbs followed by the base form, plural nouns, and full stops between complete ideas.
