Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both perspectives and state your view in the introduction: modern pressures are increasing, while earlier generations also faced serious difficulties. The two body paragraphs broadly follow the requested discussion, with examples involving competition for jobs and education today, and financial hardship in the past. However, the position is not fully clear: the conclusion mainly summarises both sides rather than explaining which view you find more convincing. Several points are also under-developed or unclear, such as how technology creates stress and what the Bangladesh example demonstrates. Develop each claim with a clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example, then state your judgement directly in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, the sequence about graduation, applying for government jobs, and competing with others is not clearly linked, and the example about Bangladesh does not explain its connection to the preceding point. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically. Make each paragraph follow a clear claim–explanation–example sequence, and use pronouns and transitions that make relationships between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “mental strain,” “financial difficulties,” “pressure,” and “competition,” and you try to distinguish present-day and earlier sources of stress. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “many anxiety people,” “successful so on,” and “natural climate problems”; these do not express the intended ideas clearly. Spelling errors such as “exessive,” “earliar,” and “dificulties” also reduce accuracy. Build a reliable set of topic vocabulary and check whether words fit their grammatical and contextual use. Prefer precise phrases such as “financial hardship” or “academic pressure” over unclear combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, including clauses introduced by “When,” “As a result,” and “although.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Agreement errors appear in “others feels” and “people also faces,” while the opening sentence has an incomplete comparison in “more mental strain they did in the before.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: the introduction joins several ideas with commas, and “In conclusion, although…” does not form a complete, well-controlled sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and comparative structures, then build longer sentences around one clear main clause. More consistent control would make your ideas easier to follow.
