Student answer (Band 5.5)
In numerous societies, now a days stress is considered as a major problem, and it is thought that people now a days suffer from more stress than in the past. Although, others feel that the level of stress people have today is over exaggerated. They believe that old generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.
In my opinion, People whom feel that depression is major problem now a days are right to some extend. For example if we start from kids, todays kids are also face stress proved by multiple psychology studies in which they conclude that todays kids are more stress because of studies pressure and for good grades. In china and japan, the school timing is scary like for 7 am to 11pm with an hour of study gap on the other hand same is the case of adults for example, the working hours of jobs and burden of overwork is more common leading to increase in stress.
On the other hand some of peoples says that considering stress as a major problem now a days is over exaggerated means that peoples who are under stress their propotion is miscalculated and considered double then the original one. They say stress was more common in old generations then today but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist. Somehow its true, Some psychcology studies have conclude that some companies and brand make misuse of this problem like for increasing their sails and making money. For example medical companies want that their medicines are more sell and few brands also advertise to increase their revenue by giving different types of things for reducing stress like relaxing equipments etc.
In conclusion, although there are some peoples who believe that stress is over exaggerated and more common in old generations but there are very few studies of psychology who prove that its true, because of increasing technologies. In this digital age, more competition have been increased among peoples in this materialistic generation so I will say that stress is more common now a days.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: you argue that stress is more common today, while acknowledging that earlier generations may also have faced pressure. The examples about students’ study demands, long working hours, and companies profiting from stress-related products are relevant to the discussion. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The claim that earlier generations experienced more pressure is mostly repeated rather than supported with a specific example, and the evidence about studies and school hours is asserted broadly without explaining its source or significance. Your conclusion returns to your position, but the reference to technology does not fully clarify how it increases stress. Develop each view with a clear reason and a concrete, explained example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track. In the second body paragraph, the discussion moves from whether stress is exaggerated to companies’ sales tactics without clearly connecting that example to the claim about past generations. Some linking phrases are also mechanical or awkward, and repeated references to “stress” and “now a days” make the flow less smooth. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect each example explicitly to that point; clearer referencing would also help readers identify who “they” refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “working hours,” “overwork,” “competition,” and “materialistic,” and you attempt to express more specific ideas about commercial interests. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “stress,” “people,” and “now a days,” while several inaccurate choices or spellings make meaning less precise: “over exaggerated,” “propotion,” “psychcology,” and “sails” appear where you mean sales. Some phrases are also unnatural, for example “the school timing is scary” and “more stress because of studies pressure.” Aim for accurate collocations and vary repeated terms—for instance, use “academic pressure” or “psychological strain” where appropriate. Proofreading spelling and word forms will make your ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrastive opening with “Although” and a longer example introduced by “For example.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Examples include “todays kids are also face stress,” “some of peoples says,” and “some psychcology studies have conclude.” The opening “Although” clause is not correctly joined to the following sentence, and several sentences run together without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete ideas with full stops. For example, write “Today’s children also face stress” and “Some studies have concluded.”
