In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 4.5)

In the modern era, stress is the most common and major problem, and many people believe that most of the people suffer from more stress because of what they did in past is major concern of stress. However, some people argue that or feel that previous generations were under more pressure, they also think if you have too much burden of work that are not way or idea of suffering from stress did not exist. In my opinion, when people uner more pressure and also no way to handle that pressure. Then brain automatcially generate stress and people make it more difficult to handle that pressure.

Firstly, pervious old generation were take more pressure. So, through that they also take stress of that work. But on the other side, young people or new generation take less work pressure they if work done in within the limited time that's good. Otherwise, he give his best to complete that work also through that they do not need to panic or suffering from stress.

People who thinking to much that type of people suffering from stress due to their past over thinking. Anything that happen in past, that time are not return again because that were past time. So, we need to think and care about present and future timeand work that need to do in upcoming time. Through that we can release stress of past work that are already happen.

In conclusion, over thinking can cost people too much in which includes stress will be the major factor. So, we do not need take pressure of work specially pervious generation and also think that stress type of things does not exist.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give an opinion that stress can arise when people face pressure without ways to manage it, and you refer to both present-day stress and previous generations. However, the two views in the question are not clearly explained or compared. The claim that older generations “take more pressure” is asserted without a specific reason or example, while the discussion of modern stress shifts mainly to overthinking and completing work on time. Your conclusion also says stress “does not exist,” which conflicts with your earlier view that pressure generates stress. To improve, explain why some people believe stress is greater today, then give a developed reason for the opposing view and state clearly which you find more convincing. The length requirement is met; eight words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, a paragraph beginning “Firstly,” further discussion, and a conclusion. Some linking expressions, such as “However,” “Firstly,” and “In conclusion,” help signal the stages of your response. Nevertheless, the progression between ideas is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from older generations’ pressure to young people’s work habits without clearly connecting these points, and the next paragraph turns to overthinking rather than developing the comparison. References such as “that work” and “that type of people” are also unclear. Organise the body around the two views, use each paragraph to develop one view, and make links between claims and examples explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is basic but includes relevant terms such as “pressure,” “stress,” “burden of work,” and “over thinking,” so the general subject is usually identifiable. However, repetition and inaccurate word combinations limit clarity. For example, “take more pressure” and “release stress of past work” are not natural expressions, while “major problem” is repeated without more precise description. There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “pervious,” “automatcially,” and “timeand.” Aim to use a wider set of accurate phrases for causes and effects, such as “face considerable pressure” or “experience work-related stress,” and check spelling and spacing carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the two positions in the prompt.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example, “In my opinion, when people uner more pressure…” and “Anything that happen in past, that time are not return again…” This shows an effort to express relationships between ideas, but the structures are often faulty and can make meaning hard to interpret. Verb forms and agreement are frequent problems: “people who thinking” needs a finite verb, and “that happen… are not return” has incorrect tense and verb construction. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention; “Then brain…” is separated from the preceding thought, while the sentence beginning “So, through that…” is difficult to parse. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences with correctly formed verbs and clear punctuation.
