IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Many people take strees because of their daily circumstances which is a major problem and it is thought that people suffer from more strees than they did in the past.I strongly agree with the statement people taking strees of a small thing without any point in more pressure they lose there thinking process.

Therefore, In some societies strees is a major problem of young people. They starting thinking early that what would happen with them if they failed.Failure doen't mean that everything is over it is starting point of your success . Most of people are strees out of their work they are taking strees of how they will deliver there work to costumer as soon as possible .they starting thinking early .Stress is part of all human being but you have to face the challenges by yourself nobody will help you in your bad time so take less stress to make our work or life happy.

Furthermore, global discovery search tell us that the ratio of taking stress is higher in GENz rather than adults that is because of social media they compare there body and life with those who are successful in their life they staring thinking when and how they would become rich like them which is not a good point to compare with those who are ten time younger them .Spend your life without taking strees we got one life so we need to spend it happily with or friends and family members.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You express a clear view that people today experience stress, especially young people and those affected by work or social media. The examples about fear of failure and comparing oneself with successful people are relevant. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, including the argument that earlier generations faced greater pressure but did not describe it as stress. That perspective is not meaningfully explained, so the response addresses the task only minimally. Several claims, such as stressed people ending their lives, are asserted without explanation or support. To improve, give each viewpoint a developed paragraph, explain why people may perceive stress differently across generations, and support your opinion with specific reasoning or an example. The stated length requirement is met; the 12 words copied from the prompt are excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, and signposts such as “Therefore,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” show an attempt to organise the discussion. The ideas about young people, work, and social media are grouped into paragraphs, which gives the reader some sense of direction. However, the progression is not consistently logical: the opening moves quickly from the general topic to your opinion, while the body does not organise the two opposing views required by the task. Several ideas are repeated, particularly the advice to take less stress and enjoy life, and links between sentences are sometimes unclear. Plan one paragraph for each view and a final paragraph for your judgement; use linking phrases to show contrast and cause rather than relying mainly on sequence markers.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “pressure,” “failure,” “challenges,” “social media,” and “compare,” so the reader can identify the subject of your examples. However, the vocabulary is basic and repetitive, especially the repeated use of “stress” and “take stress.” Spelling errors such as “strees,” “doen't,” and “there” for “their” also reduce accuracy, while phrases such as “global discovery search” and “a good point to compare” are unclear or unnatural. These choices sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Build a more precise range of expressions for causes and effects of stress, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, use “experience stress” or “feel under pressure” instead of repeatedly saying “take stress.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “they compare their body and life with those who are successful in their life,” and you use some simple statements to express advice. However, sentence structures are very limited overall, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation sometimes distort meaning. Examples include “Many people take … which is a major problem,” where the clause connection is unclear, “They starting thinking,” and “Most of people are ….” Run-on sentences and missing spaces after full stops also make the response harder to read. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” and “while.” Check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
