Student answer (Band 4.5)
It is often argued that in some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist. In this essay i will discuss both of view and give my own opinion to this topic
Some people believe that is the major problem in the community, this mainly because it effected the life of them, and specialy the montal and physical health, the anaxios is one of majors factors caused many deseases, while the the social situation played a bige factor, for exemple in the past people suffer from poor and wars and unpeacefull and no secure, and was live in stress all time, as a result they stressed and focusing to changer their life, and some time immigrated to an other place to reduced the stress and lived in peace.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that the conditions in the past and today is not the same, so I largly believe that the stress is existed in the past.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You introduce both views and give a position in the conclusion, stating that stress existed in the past. However, the discussion does not clearly explain the first view that people today experience more stress; instead, the first body paragraph focuses mainly on past poverty, wars and insecurity. The second paragraph also asserts that modern facilities make people more comfortable without explaining how this supports the claim that stress is exaggerated. Your opinion is therefore only partly clear and is not developed with specific examples or evidence. The response contains 205 words, below the required 250; 59 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each side directly and add relevant explanation or an example to meet the task fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable essay structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate the discussion, and connectors such as “while,” “for example” and “as a result” show an attempt to link ideas. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several claims are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from health effects to past wars and then immigration without clearly showing how these points relate to the view being discussed. The conclusion repeats a general position rather than drawing together the arguments. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one view, and make links between claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “major problem,” “mental and physical health,” “economic” and “geopolitical effects.” These choices show some awareness of the subject, but the range is limited and many spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “anaxios,” “decreased today,” “changement of situation” and “thinked that the idea of stress did not exist.” Some repeated general words, such as “stress,” “people” and “situation,” also limit precision. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and natural combinations. For example, describe “economic conditions” or “pressure at work” rather than relying on unclear or translated expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the essay includes clauses linked with “while,” “because” and “as a result.” However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms and agreement sometimes obscure meaning. Examples include “Some people believe that is the major problem,” “people suffer from poor and wars,” and “the conditions in the past and today is not the same.” The opening also has an incomplete construction in “In this essay i will discuss both of view,” while several sentences run together without clear punctuation. Practise forming complete subject–verb clauses, maintaining consistent tense, and checking singular/plural agreement. Shorter, accurately punctuated sentences would make your ideas easier to follow.
