IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, people have more acknowlegde about mental health, due to the campaingn of self awarness. They know what stress is how you cope with what and what should not to do when you're under pressure as compare to past .In past years, people have physical hyperbole they think this stress due to illetracy.
For instance,Technology have severe impact on people lives specially smart phones people are so much into mobile, that they insolate themselves from relatives and neghbiours and also sometime with close ties which alleviate their stress, feeling of loneliness and effect on their mental heath. At same time, in past people are stress due to financial instability and health issue but they had close friends and families in with they share their stress and work routine so they somehow overcome their stress or in other words we say they don't have much time to think about stress like nowadays.
On the other hand, internet now acessable in this generation youngster compares their lives with the other. Because of, Social media platforms usage, which increases their stress and lower their confidence and compasion become more common and sucidal though becaome increases recently most viral came into knowledged that youn men kill thier father mother because they can't afford the mobile he wants, which shut me off.
In my opinion, stress become more frequently increases in this generation because of accessebility of devices and technology.Peolple more aware
about their mental condition and contrast of others which level up their stress,In pastpeople are busy in their life they don't had access to devices so they less comapare with others which help them to decline to suffer from stress

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives: greater awareness of mental health today, and the pressures faced by earlier generations, such as financial instability and health problems. You also give a clear overall view that stress is more common now, linking it to technology and social comparison. These points are relevant, but several are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that earlier people overcame stress because they had close family ties needs a clearer explanation or a specific example. The reference to a young man killing his parents is also difficult to interpret and is not connected carefully to the argument. Develop each main point with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and support it with a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: it introduces the issue, considers technology and earlier pressures, presents a further point about social media, and ends with your opinion. However, the progression between these ideas is not always clear. The opening moves quickly from awareness to how people cope, while the paragraph beginning “On the other hand” does not clearly signal a contrasting view. Some linking phrases are inaccurate or awkward, such as “Because of, Social media platforms usage,” and several ideas run together in long sentences. Use one central point per paragraph, make the relationship between paragraphs explicit, and use simpler, accurate transitions to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “mental health,” “financial instability,” “social media platforms,” and “confidence,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and many spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts difficult to understand: “acknowlegde,” “self awarness,” “insolate,” and “sucidal though” are examples. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “physical hyperbole” and “viral came into knowledged,” so the reader cannot reliably infer your intended meaning. Build accuracy with common collocations such as “raise awareness,” “social isolation,” and “financial pressure.” Proofread spelling and choose precise words rather than attempting expressions whose meaning is unclear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in examples such as “Technology have severe impact” and “stress become more frequently increases.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also often unclear: the opening contains several ideas joined without full stops, and commas are frequently missing or misplaced. Articles and prepositions are sometimes omitted or used inaccurately, as in “due to illetracy” and “in past years.” These patterns can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them with one subordinate clause at a time, checking tense, agreement, and punctuation.
