You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowdays, stress has become the most common and major concern in many societies, While some individuals believe that people experience more stress than in the past, other argue that previous genrations faced much more greater pressure but they do not recognized it as a stress. In my opinion both genration going through stress, although life was difficult in earlier time and modern time create diffrent form of stress nowdays.

On the one hand, many people believe that stress level increased significantly in recent years.

One of the major concern is growning competition in the field of education and work sector. students are expected to achieve excellent marks and do all the assignments on time in efficient manner, while employees often meet strict deadlines and work load in the office plus long working shifts without any break. Furthermore, social media also play a very crucial to add on the pressure among the people, For example, young people may compare their achievements with those who are online, which may negatively impact their confifence and mental state. As a result they suffer from menatal stress and they became mentally exhausted.

On the other hand, it is also acceptable that older genration experienced considerable pressure during their time.

In the past many individuals suffer from poverty, health issues or lack of education and schooling and specially limited resources. People have do physical demanding hardwork to earn money or to support their family. In adition they sometime face many difficulties in job search and lack of opportunities to start a busniess.

However, mental stress was no discussed openly on that time and many people believe that stress is a common part their daily life. Therefore, they do not recognized stress as a major concern.

In conclusion, both genration face stress but oldern genration does not recognized that stress and emotions rather thrn the new genration In adition, now days stress are formed by new problems and the nature of stress are now changes, and todays genration are very serious about their mental peace and they express their feeling and emotions in comnpare to older genration.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a position: the opening says both generations experience stress, while the conclusion distinguishes older hardships from newer pressures. Relevant examples include competition in education and work, social-media comparison, poverty, health problems, and physically demanding jobs. This covers the task well, and the examples make the discussion more than a list of opinions. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the link between social media and mental strain could be developed with a clearer consequence, and the claim that earlier generations did not recognise stress needs more support. Your opinion is present but could be stated more precisely and consistently, especially in the conclusion, to make the argument feel fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the examples generally appear in relevant sections. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. “Furthermore” introduces social media appropriately, but “As a result” does not clearly show how the preceding examples lead to the stated outcome. The conclusion also repeats the central comparison without bringing the ideas together clearly. Use referencing and linking phrases more selectively, and make each paragraph’s final sentence explicitly connect its examples to the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “competition,” “strict deadlines,” “limited resources,” “physically demanding,” and “mental state.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some phrases show an attempt to discuss the issue with specificity. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word combinations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “genrations,” “confifence,” “menatal stress,” and “work load.” There are also awkward expressions such as “a very crucial to add on the pressure” and “the nature of stress are now changes.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would make your ideas clearer without needing more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “although,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “other argue,” “they do not recognized,” “stress was no discussed,” and “the nature of stress are now changes.” The opening also joins two complete ideas with a comma before “While,” and the conclusion contains a run-on sequence that makes the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and keeping verb forms consistent, then divide long sentences into clear units. More accurate control of these structures would make the argument easier to read.
