Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary discourse, the question of whether stress is considred as a crusial problem and people undergo from stress than they did in past, while other believes that previous generation were suffer more pressure. In my perspective, the significant role of stress taking by today's generation than the past.
The primary reason behind the stress is particularly pressure that people taking nowadays. As we are living in modern genaration and we have more opportunities than previous genaration that kind of opportunities now stood as a cause of stress. For instance, in present days people have more abilities of jobs consequently, their are many competition among them and this is one of the reason that create job pressure. Moreover, when people go through from miserable condition that become more stressful and that may create often family problem. Furthermore, Children are not alone from stress, they have many competition in their academic life that cause they often suffer from stress.
On the other hand, those who do not believe about that they may consider that previous generation went through from more pressure, the stress of suffering did not visible. I agree that people in past generation went through many stressful things but that stress does not match with present generation. In pervious life people did lots of hard work but they did not have any 'competition' among them, that people are suffer in today's generation. Children on the other side did not have any competition in past, that children are facing nowadays.
In conclusion, people did hard work more in past than tody's people but they did not face any stressful thing that people are facing in this time. Moreover, copetition makes tod's life more stressful

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a position: you argue that present-day stress is greater, mainly because of competition in work and education. The examples of job competition and children’s academic pressures are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The view that earlier generations faced more pressure is acknowledged, but the claim that they had less competition is asserted rather than supported, and the response does not explain what kinds of pressures they experienced. Your position is also not fully consistent: you concede that people in the past faced many stressful things, then dismiss these as not matching current stress without explaining the comparison. Develop both sides with specific examples and make the basis for your judgement clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting the view that stress is greater today, a paragraph considering the past, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal examples and contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas repeat the same point about competition without adding a distinct explanation. Some connections are difficult to follow, particularly “when people go through from miserable condition that become more stressful,” where the relationship to family problems is not made clear. The conclusion repeats the main claim but does not resolve the comparison. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the argument it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “pressure,” “competition,” “academic life,” and “stressful,” and you attempt more formal phrasing such as “In contemporary discourse.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “people undergo from stress,” “abilities of jobs,” and “competition among them” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “crusial,” “genaration,” and “copetition” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural combinations such as “experience stress,” “job opportunities,” and “face intense competition,” and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated uses of “stress” and “competition” with suitable alternatives would also improve flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “As,” “when,” and “that,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “previous generation were suffer more pressure” has problems with agreement and verb form, while “their are many competition” has errors in the verb, article, and noun form. In “Children are not alone from stress,” the sentence pattern does not communicate the intended meaning clearly. Practise forming accurate clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and singular/plural nouns. Shorter, controlled sentences can help you express each point clearly before attempting longer structures.
