In some societies, stress is now regarded as a major problem, and it is thought that people suffer from more stress than they did in the past. However, others feel that the amount of stress people have today is exaggerated. They say that previous generations were under more pressure, but the idea of suffering from stress did not exist.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have diferent views a number of society, now frustration is one of the major issue, and it is true that individuals suffer from more stress compared than past. Others people, experience that the amount of stress people have today is too much. They believe that older genarations were under the pressure, however the concept of suffering from frustration still remain. In my opinion, I largely agree with the first concept because more and more financial and study pressure can increase our stress.
There are number of reasons why nowadays people may feel more stress compared in the past. One possible reason is that study pressure because more and more students may face difficulties about their study. In fact, many of the learners may suffers about their academic performance. Moreover, if any student may not well answer in their examination thay may feel frustration. For example, Most of the higher students may often feel anoxious about examination and their result. As a result, this type pressure can cause increase stress and they may feel unsatisfied.
Despite the other views the older genaration also may suffer their daily lifestyle. One particular reason is that poor healthcare system and financial condition. To begins with, in the previous days many of people suffer their healthcare system because that time there was no well known hospital treatment. Another possible reason is that money shortage because in the past many individuals may suffer their financial issue. This is manily because in the past many educated person they face job shortage and that can increase their unsatisfactory. For instance, farmers worked hard almost every day and they worried about market value of their crop.
In conclusion, people have vary in their opinion, however I believe that today unsatisfactory is one of the major problem for individuals because everyone worried about their life and how they improve their lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both perspectives and state a position: you agree more with the view that people today face greater stress, while also noting past healthcare and financial hardships. The examples of students worrying about examinations and farmers worrying about crop prices are relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first view is mainly explained through study pressure, while the second is presented as a list of hardships without clearly comparing their effects with modern pressures. Your conclusion repeats that people are worried about their lives but does not bring the comparison together. Also, the opening misrepresents the opposing view: the prompt says earlier generations experienced pressure even though stress was not recognised, not that the concept did not exist. Clarify this distinction and explain your reasons with more specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for present-day stress, one for earlier generations, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “Moreover,” “Despite the other views,” and “In conclusion.” However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “Despite the other views” does not accurately introduce the paragraph about past pressures, and “To begins with” is not formed correctly. Within paragraphs, ideas sometimes jump from study difficulties to examination anxiety without explaining the connection, while the final paragraph largely repeats the introduction. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the comparison between past and present.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial pressure,” “academic performance,” “healthcare system,” and “market value.” These choices help communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or repeated expressions make parts of the response difficult to interpret. “Frustration” is repeatedly used where the task concerns stress, and phrases such as “suffer their healthcare system” and “their unsatisfactory” are not natural English collocations. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “diferent,” “genarations,” and “anoxious.” Aim for precise topic vocabulary and check spelling; varying repeated words such as “stress” is useful only when the alternative has the correct meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if any student may not well answer in their examination.” However, this construction is faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence structure occur throughout. Examples include “There are number of reasons,” “many of the learners may suffers,” and “everyone worried about their life.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Work first on reliable sentence patterns: use “There are a number of reasons,” “learners may suffer,” and “everyone worries.” Then practise forming conditional sentences accurately, for example, “If students perform poorly in an examination, they may feel anxious.” Proofread for subject–verb agreement and complete, well-formed clauses.
