Student answer (Band 5.5)

In many countries, stress has become a serious issue, and it is consider that mostly individuals suffer from more stress than in decades.Meanwhile, others argue that previous generations were under more pressure but the concept of suffering from anxiety did not exist.

On the one hand, in some societies stress is now regarded as a major problem and it is think that people face many challenges due to stress than they did in past. I partialy agree with this statement, in the contemporary society many teenagers face several problems due to stress. In addition, adults just not compete each other for taking job but they also compete each other taking university admissions. Some also take more stress just because of social media fan following, many teenager all time thinking that how they can gain respect and increase their fan following on the social media by creating different type of conents such as entertaining or educational.Consequently, Pupils also face pressure due to chaning or increasing syllabus and also for improvement of other extra curriculum activities. Moreover, athelets also feel stress due to family and fan expectations.

On the other hand, In past people feel less stress because academic excellence does not really matter and they does not feel pressure from their parents. Mostly, individulas just feel the amount of pressure of taking houses or golds. Subsequently, that time were less distractions so people does not feel too much pressure.

In conclusion, nowadays teenagers suffer more from stress due to the academic excellence and prosperous future. In decade, people were less stress because thay spent more time with each other and mitigate their anxiety so they just feel little pressure by taking jobs and houses for survival.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both views and give a position, particularly through “I partialy agree” and the contrast between present-day pressures and pressures in the past. The examples of competition for university places, social-media attention, school demands and athletes’ expectations are relevant to modern stress. However, the response only partially develops the task: the past-generation view is supported mainly by brief claims about houses, gold and fewer distractions, without explaining why these pressures were greater or comparing them clearly with current pressures. Your opinion also shifts: you partly agree that stress is greater today, but the conclusion says people in the past felt less stress, leaving your overall judgement unclear. Explain both perspectives more fully and state a consistent position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “On the one hand,” a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several examples are added in long sequences, especially in the first body paragraph. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Consequently,” and “Moreover” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not clearly show how one point follows from another. The conclusion repeats ideas rather than resolving the contrast between the two views. Group related examples, explain their connection, and use clearer references and transitions to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “academic excellence,” “social media,” “expectations,” “distractions,” and “anxiety,” which makes the subject clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “fan following” and “extra curriculum activities.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “stress,” “pressure,” and “feel,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “taking university admissions,” “taking houses or golds,” and “prosperous future.” Spelling errors such as “partialy,” “chaning,” and “conents” also reduce precision. Build a wider set of accurate collocations for describing causes and effects of stress, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “so,” and you use contrastive structures to organise the discussion. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to process. Examples include “it is consider” and “it is think,” where the verb forms are incorrect, and “they does not feel,” where subject–verb agreement is faulty. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “in past” and “adults just not compete.” Long sentences, particularly the one about social-media followers, contain several ideas without reliable grammatical control. Practise accurate present and past forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries; shorter, well-controlled sentences will make your meaning clearer.
