Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views: the second paragraph suggests earlier generations experienced pressure but did not express it, while the third describes modern pressures such as education, employment, salaries and social expectations. Your conclusion also gives a clear preference for the view that stress is greater today. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that people in the past were happier and had no anxiety is asserted rather than explained, and the example about rice and work does not clearly demonstrate that they experienced less stress. The modern examples are more relevant, but their connection to stress could be made more explicit. Develop each side with a clear reason and a specific, well-explained example, and state your position more precisely in the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “However,” “Moreover,” and “Nevertheless” help signal changes in direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several claims are placed together without clear links. For example, the discussion moves from past work pressure to happiness, money, anxiety and diet, without showing how these points support the same argument. Some linking phrases are also used inaccurately or mechanically, and references such as “they” can be unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main idea, then explain it and connect the example directly to it; use linking expressions only where the relationship between ideas is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “educational pressure,” “career growth,” “employment,” and “economical unsatisfactions.” This shows an effort to discuss several sources of stress, but the range is limited and many word-choice, word-form and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “more tensed,” “wild” for promotions, “burnings one life,” and repeated misspellings such as “strees.” Some phrases do not collocate naturally, including “passing relaxation time” and “salary portion is less.” Build a reliable set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and word forms. Prefer precise, natural phrases such as “financial insecurity” or “limited leisure time” over literal translations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast beginning “While other assert…” and a relative clause in “students completing undergraduations…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction can make meaning unclear. For instance, “It is often argue” lacks the correct passive form, while “they are not easily finds a job” has an incorrect verb pattern and agreement. The opening sentence also combines clauses in a way that obscures the intended relationship. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency and articles, and read each sentence aloud to identify incomplete or tangled constructions.
