Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant features, including the smallest and largest workforces (56 and 190), the rise in staff turnover from the first to the fifth company, and the high proportion of younger employees. However, the overview is incomplete and some comparisons are inaccurate: female staff are not the majority in every company, since the third has a 74:26 male-to-female ratio. The claim that employment “grew” from first to fifth also overlooks the fluctuating figures for the middle companies. The income comparison is only partly reported: the third company has the highest high-income share at 74%, while the fifth has the lowest at 2%. Select the clearest contrasts and report them accurately to develop the summary more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to comparisons of gender, age, turnover and income. This gives the reader some organisation, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Moreover” and “Additionally” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview introduces workforce size and gender, while later paragraphs repeat or add details without a well-planned grouping. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “At the which company has more staff has less in income,” and “furthermore” joins ideas without clear punctuation. Group related comparisons into focused paragraphs and use linking words only where the relationship between points is explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “staff turnover,” “high income bracket,” “ratio” and “dramatically,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. “Mini organisation” and “excellent work for it” do not naturally describe small companies that are good employers; “research of employ” is also difficult to interpret. There are spelling and word-form problems, such as “memeber” and “employment” where “employees” is intended. Aim for precise, conventional terms such as “small companies,” “survey of employees” and “ranked first,” and check spelling and collocations before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “The main feature of men and women ratio was that…” and the sentence beginning “Additionally, workers under 35s…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “The table illustrate” and “positions in survey was,” where the subject and verb do not agree, as well as “the first company staff memeber was minimum,” which lacks a clear grammatical structure. The final sentence, “At the which company has more staff has less in income,” is not a complete, clear comparison. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build comparisons with a clear subject and verb.
