Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant features, including the largest and smallest workforces, the fourth-placed company’s high proportion of women and older staff, and the contrast in high-income employees between the third- and fifth-ranked companies. However, the overview mainly lists what the table contains rather than summarising its main patterns. Some comparisons are incomplete: for example, the fifth-placed company’s workforce is described as balanced, but the first and fourth companies also have strongly female-majority workforces. The statement that it “generates 33% turnover” confuses staff turnover with income; 33% is the turnover rate, while only 2% are in the high-income bracket. Select the most significant contrasts and report each figure accurately to make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview-like paragraph and a final paragraph of comparisons. This gives the reader some organisation, and words such as “Overall” and “Furthermore” signal transitions. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the second paragraph mostly repeats the table categories, while the final paragraph moves abruptly between workforce size, gender, age, turnover and income. Some linking expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “Whenever” to introduce a comparison and “where” before the fourth-place company. Group related comparisons together and use straightforward links such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile.” Clearer referencing and more purposeful paragraph development would make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “staff numbers,” “male and female,” “staff turnover” and “high income bracket,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts difficult to understand. For instance, “positioning company” and “generates turnover through staff” are not natural ways to describe the rankings and turnover figures; “prefrence,” “categarized” and “comapney” also contain noticeable spelling errors. Aim for precise, conventional expressions such as “ranked fifth,” “female employees” and “had a staff turnover rate of 33%.” Proofreading spelling and choosing accurate collocations will improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple statements and longer comparisons, but the sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “The table illustrate detail” has subject–verb disagreement and an incomplete noun phrase, while “a company which stands number 1 position having only 56 employee” lacks a complete main verb and has an incorrect singular/plural form. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “In male and female ration 5th positioning companey maintain equally balanced.” Use complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, for example, “The fifth-ranked company has 190 employees, compared with 56 at the top-ranked company.” Check agreement, articles, plurals and punctuation when editing.
