Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the table’s subject and report several relevant figures, including staff totals and the 3rd-place company’s male majority. However, the response only partially summarises the data: the overview is vague, and important comparisons are missing or inaccurate. For example, the 4th-place company has the highest female share (87%), not merely a generally high proportion, while the 3rd-place company has the highest share of staff in the high-income bracket (74%). The final sentence, “Turning towards under old aged people, at first,” is unfinished, so the age and turnover data are not meaningfully reported. Develop a clear overview and select key contrasts across the table.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, overview and detail paragraphs, and phrases such as “Overall” and “To begin with” signal sections. However, progression is difficult to follow because the overview repeats the general topic rather than summarising the main patterns, and the final paragraph stops mid-sentence. The long sentence beginning “at first position” strings together several figures with “before,” “then” and “and,” making the sequence cumbersome. Some references are also unclear, as in “the remaining positions have low proportion.” Use separate sentences to group related comparisons, and ensure each paragraph develops a complete point before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “staff,” “ratio” and “survey,” and the reader can generally recognise the intended subject. However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward, such as “little firms,” “well to work for,” “staff member,” and “under old aged people.” Spelling errors such as “Britian,” “incresed” and “proportion” used repeatedly also reduce precision. Aim for standard table-description language and vary repeated terms: for example, use “companies,” “employees,” “share” and “ranked.” More accurate collocations would make the comparisons clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sequence describing changes in staff numbers and an overview introduced by “Overall.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “the survey give information,” “which is conducted,” and “the number of staff is 56, before being increased to 79in 2nd.” The final fragment, “Turning towards under old aged people, at first,” is not a complete sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete clauses, and use shorter sentences when reporting several figures. Check punctuation and spacing as part of proofreading.
