Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Furthermore, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence ('Nonetheless, others'). While you identified some key features such as the staff numbers for the 1st and 5th companies, the analysis is underdeveloped. You did not provide a comprehensive overview or compare all the data points effectively. To improve, ensure you complete the task by covering all categories (staff numbers and gender ratios) and provide a clear summary of the main trends before the word count limit is reached.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'In terms of', 'Furthermore', and 'Meanwhile', the flow is disrupted by the unfinished final sentence. Paragraphing is present, but the logical progression is hindered by the lack of a concluding summary or a fully developed body paragraph. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that you use linking words to connect ideas smoothly rather than just listing data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, particularly the use of 'numbers of staff' and 'company'. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'tiny number of staffs' (staff is an uncountable noun in this context) and 'cursory glance'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to describe the data with precision. To improve, try to use a wider variety of synonyms and ensure correct usage of collective nouns and collocations related to data reporting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'is accounted for the highest number' (passive voice error), '1st company had the tiny number of staffs' (incorrect article and noun usage), and '2nd, 3rd and 4th numbers of company' (awkward phrasing). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage indicate a lack of control over complex structures. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
