Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data, but it struggles to present a clear overview. While it identifies some key features, the description of the data is often confusing and inaccurate. For instance, the claim that the company with the lowest number of staff dominated the first position is not clearly supported by the data provided. Furthermore, the report lacks a cohesive summary of the trends, and the comparisons between companies are vague, such as stating that the second and third positions have 'almost same data.' To improve, you should focus on selecting the most significant data points and presenting them with greater precision and clarity, ensuring that the overview highlights the main trends rather than listing isolated figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'Somehow second and third position' and 'Continuing with this.' Referencing is also problematic; it is often unclear which company or data point is being discussed. The progression of ideas is not always smooth, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the five companies. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'various of topics' instead of 'various topics' and 'staff turnover was about highest among as compared to others.' The vocabulary used is basic and does not demonstrate the flexibility required for a higher band score. To improve, you should focus on learning more precise terminology for describing data, such as 'proportion,' 'fluctuation,' or 'significant,' and practice using these in context. Additionally, pay attention to word forms and ensure that your terminology is appropriate for a formal report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('there was five companies'), article usage ('the on the survey'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, and the punctuation is inconsistent. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty, leading to a lack of clarity. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and reducing the frequency of errors in articles and prepositions. Proofreading for common slips would also be beneficial.
