Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response provides a summary of the main features, but the reporting of data is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, you mention 'the ratio of females in all five companies are more then males excluding one company', but the data interpretation is inconsistent. You attempt to highlight trends, such as the age distribution and income brackets, but the lack of precision in citing the figures from the table makes it difficult for the reader to verify your claims. To improve, ensure that you select the most significant data points rather than attempting to list every detail, and double-check your calculations to ensure the information reported matches the visual data provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'Moreover' and 'In addition' at the start of sentences. Some transitions are used incorrectly, which disrupts the logical flow of ideas. For instance, the phrase 'While compare to other companies' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively link the comparison. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that progresses logically from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher score. There is frequent misuse of terms like 'ratio' when referring to percentages or raw numbers, and 'dominating' is used in a way that sounds unnatural in this context. Some phrasing is repetitive, and there are minor errors in word choice, such as 'for works have more'. To improve, try to use more specific terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', or 'figure', and ensure that your word choices are contextually appropriate for a formal report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the ratio... are more'), incorrect preposition usage, and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas. The sentence 'While excluding 3rd company in that the ration of males are more compare to females' is particularly difficult to follow due to its fragmented structure. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency.
