Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear or accurate overview. The information presented is often confusing or contradictory, such as the claim that the 5th rank firm has the highest number of staff while also mentioning it has a high turnover. The data points are frequently misquoted or unclear (e.g., '1th rank firm is lowest 56'). The report lacks a logical selection of key features, and the comparisons are difficult to follow due to inaccurate data interpretation. To improve, ensure you accurately transcribe figures from the table and group them logically rather than listing them in a disjointed manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is frequently unclear. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'Nevertheless'), they are often used incorrectly or do not logically connect the sentences. The referencing is problematic; for instance, the transition between discussing staff numbers and gender ratios is abrupt and confusing. The lack of clarity in the data presentation makes it difficult for the reader to follow the intended comparison. Improving the logical flow between sentences and ensuring that cohesive devices are used to link related ideas would significantly enhance the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as '1th rank firm' (should be '1st'), 'income package', and 'for woman'. The phrasing is often awkward, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding of the data. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more accurate terminology for describing data, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'ratio', and 'turnover', and ensure that you use these terms in the correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often cause difficulty for the reader. There are issues with article usage ('the 5th rank firm'), subject-verb agreement ('3th rank company provide'), and sentence structure ('despite of this'). The use of complex sentences is limited and often results in errors that obscure the meaning. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and practicing the use of prepositions and articles. Proofreading for common errors like '1th' instead of '1st' would also be beneficial.
