Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping abruptly at only 89 words. Consequently, the task is addressed only minimally and partially. While the student attempts to introduce the table and mentions a few isolated figures such as the 74% and 48% income brackets, there is no genuine attempt to provide a comprehensive overview or select and report the main features meaningfully. Furthermore, the writing trails off unfinished with 'Moving futher', leaving the description incomplete and preventing the response from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The text suffers from severe structural limitations due to its extremely short and unfinished nature. While basic transitional markers like 'On analusing the data' and 'Moreover' are attempted, the overall organisation breaks down completely because the response cuts off mid-sentence at the end. Paragraphing is disjointed, and the lack of a coherent structure makes it difficult for the reader to follow any logical progression or relationship between the data points presented.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and heavily impacted by spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'taubler' for table, 'Brition' for Britain, 'analusing' for analysing, and 'poistion' for position. While the student attempts some topic-related vocabulary like 'staff numbers', 'staff turnover', and 'high income bracket', the lexical range remains limited and repetitive. These noticeable errors and awkward word formations cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control over lexical features.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Grammatical control is weak, featuring a limited range of structures and frequent basic errors. There are issues with prepositions and phrasing, such as 'conducted from a national paper' instead of 'conducted by', and confusion over numerical expressions such as 'the maximum amount is 74% in 3rd position staff in high income bracket'. Sentence structures are basic and often malformed, and the response ends with an incomplete fragment ('Moving futher'), demonstrating poor command of grammatical range and accuracy.
