Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response identifies the table’s general subject and reports several figures accurately, including the staff totals and gender ratios. However, the overview is unclear and includes a major misreading: the fifth-ranked company has the highest staff number and turnover, but not the highest proportion of over-55s; its figure is 0%, while the fourth-ranked company has the highest at 8%. The statement that the fifth company has the highest “stress ratio” is unsupported, as stress is not shown in the table. Several important comparisons are omitted, especially turnover and the high-income figures, and the age data are left incomplete. To make the summary more effective, give a clear overview of the main contrasts and select accurate comparisons across the categories shown.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response, moving from an introduction to general comments and then figures for staff numbers, gender and age. This gives the reader some sense of the table’s categories. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the overview is unclear, and the final sentence about choosing a company by “salary and stress” does not connect clearly to the reported data. The age comparison stops after the third company, leaving the point unfinished. Paragraphing and linking are limited, and several ideas are crowded into long sentences. Grouping related comparisons into clear paragraphs and using simple links such as “by contrast” or “in terms of turnover” would make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, such as “employees,” “gender distribution,” “turnover,” and “salary,” showing an attempt to describe the table rather than relying only on general language. However, vocabulary is often inaccurate or repetitive, and some choices make the meaning difficult to understand. For example, “stress ratio” and “turnover resources” do not accurately describe the information, while “human resources” is used where “staff” or “employees” is intended. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “industies,” “poistion,” and “Genger,” which reduce clarity. Aim for precise, consistent terms for the table’s categories and check spelling carefully; avoid introducing concepts, such as stress, that the data do not provide.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, and some numerical information is expressed in understandable forms, such as “No of employees in 1st are 56.” However, sentence structures are very limited and errors are frequent, sometimes obscuring the intended meaning. The opening sentence has an unclear construction (“to show to survey of their human resources”), and the overview contains a run-on sequence with incomplete or poorly connected ideas. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “in 5 its 190 which is largest than all.” The age sentence is incomplete and includes an unclear clause. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check articles, agreement and punctuation.
