Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify several relevant features, including the first company’s small workforce (56), the fifth company’s much larger staff (190), and the high proportion of under-35s in the fifth and first companies. Your overview also notes the fifth company’s high turnover and low share of high earners, which are important contrasts. However, some comparisons are incomplete or unclear: the claim that the first company has the lowest turnover is accurate, but the overview would be stronger if it also reported the fifth company’s 33% turnover and the third company’s highest high-income share (74%). The statement that companies prefer younger staff is broadly supported, but the fourth company is an exception, with only 26% under 35 and 8% over 55. Develop these contrasts more precisely and avoid generalising across all five companies.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, supporting comparisons, and a concluding sentence. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and phrases such as “Moreover” and “For instance” attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is uneven: the overview combines workforce size, turnover, and income without clearly separating the main patterns, while the final conclusion repeats the general point about young staff rather than synthesising the key comparisons. Some linking is also awkward or unclear, as in “Although, an opposite trend has noticed.” Grouping related figures into clearer paragraphs—for example, workforce and age, then turnover and income—would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “staff,” “turnover,” “high income bracket,” and “labour force,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. For example, “companies woking inside the premises of britain” does not accurately express that the companies are based in Britain, and “female contribution” is an imprecise way to describe the gender balance. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “recieved,” “survery,” “comapred,” and “youn.” Use precise terms such as “female employees” and “share of staff,” and check spelling carefully to improve clarity and appropriacy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a comparison with “whereas” and a sentence beginning “Although.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms sometimes make the writing difficult to read. Examples include “highest staff with highest turnover has seen,” “an opposite trend has noticed,” and “top leading company have only 56 staff.” These need clearer subjects and correctly formed verbs, such as “The fifth-placed company has the highest staff turnover” and “The top-ranked company has only 56 employees.” Punctuation is also uneven, with missing spaces after commas and a comma after “Although” that disrupts the sentence. Practise accurate comparison structures and proofread each sentence for a complete subject–verb pattern.
