Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You include several relevant figures, such as the first-placed company’s 56 employees and 5% turnover, and the fifth-placed company’s 190 employees and 2% in the high-income bracket. However, the overview is unclear and contains a key error: turnover is not highest for the fifth company at 13%; it is 33%. The table’s main contrasts are only partly identified, and some comparisons are inaccurate or difficult to interpret. For example, the fourth company’s male:female ratio is 13:87, not 13:83, and the second, third and fourth companies’ figures are presented in a confusing sequence. Focus on a clear overview of the strongest contrasts, then report selected figures accurately and explain which company each comparison refers to.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is an attempt to organise the response with sequencing phrases such as “Overall,” “In addition,” and “Furthermore,” and you do compare the first and fifth companies before mentioning the others. However, the information is not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the long, run-on passage makes it difficult to follow which figures belong to which company. Connectors such as “on the other hand,” “Meanwhile,” and “However” do not always show a clear relationship between the data. The final comparison is especially hard to track because several figures are joined together without clear sentence boundaries. Use a short overview paragraph followed by two comparison paragraphs, and group companies consistently while using clear references such as “the second-placed company.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “staff turnover,” “male / female ratio,” and “high income bracket,” which helps communicate the subject of the table. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. For example, “position in survey in first employee is lowest” does not clearly describe the rankings, while “staff is rise up” is not a natural way to report a figure. “Good salery” is informal and misspelled, and “in contract” appears to be an unsuitable linking phrase. Build a reliable set of expressions for describing rankings, proportions and comparisons, such as “ranked first,” “accounted for,” and “compared with,” and check spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to combine information using clauses and linking words, but sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to control. For instance, “The table illustration, the information about…” lacks a complete main clause, and “the fifth companies has staff high income bracket is 2%” contains problems with agreement and sentence structure. Articles, plurals and possessives are also inconsistent, as in “first companies” and “fifth companies employee.” Punctuation is weak: several ideas run together, particularly in the final sentence, so the relationships between figures are obscured. Practise writing complete, shorter comparison sentences first, with a clear subject and verb, then add subordinate clauses only when their structure is secure.
