Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant comparisons, including the largest workforce at the fifth-ranked company (190), the smallest at the first (56), and the highest and lowest high-income shares at the third and fourth companies (74% and 5%). However, the overview is not accurate: the fifth company is ranked fifth, not “figured as best,” and its 33% turnover is the highest, not a feature that supports it being best. The response also gives limited coverage of the table’s main patterns, such as the first company’s lowest turnover and the contrast in age profiles. Some details are unclear or incomplete, so the key features are only partially summarised. Organise the overview around the actual survey ranking and the most notable comparisons, checking each claim against the figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview, and further comparisons, and it uses some linking expressions such as “Overall” and “as opposed to.” This gives the reader a general sense of the topic. However, progression is limited: the overview mixes ranking, staff numbers, turnover, and age, while later paragraphs return to some of the same figures without a clear grouping principle. The final sentence introduces the fourth company’s older employees abruptly. References such as “it” and “the least proportion” are not always immediately clear. Group the information into logical comparisons—for example, workforce and age, then turnover and income—and use precise references to each company.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “staff numbers,” “male and female ratio,” “staff turnover,” and “high income bracket,” which helps communicate the table’s subject. However, the range is limited and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the facts of five companies,” “the survey is examined,” and “generated by employees.” Spelling errors, including “survery,” “turover,” “onyl,” and “propotion,” are noticeable and reduce the clarity and polish of the report. Aim for standard data-reporting language, such as “shows,” “ranked,” “accounted for,” and “the proportion of staff,” and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a comparison using “as opposed to,” and the main topic is generally understandable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction and grammatical forms. For example, “The 5th company has most employees” needs an article or a superlative construction, while “the least propotion is in the 4th company wheres 4th company has…” contains faulty clause joining and missing articles. Capitalisation is also inconsistent in “Overall, The survey.” These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate comparative structures and article use, and separate long sentences into shorter, complete clauses with clear punctuation.
