Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You report several relevant figures, including staff numbers, gender ratios, turnover and high-income percentages, and correctly identify the third company as having the largest high-income share. However, the response mainly lists details company by company rather than selecting and summarising the main patterns. There is no clear overview of the contrasts—for example, the fifth-ranked company has the most staff and highest turnover, while the third has the highest proportion of high earners. Some key data are also omitted, such as the under-35 figures for the third and fifth companies, and the fifth company’s gender ratio. The statement that the third company has no employees over 55 is accurate, but its other age information is missing. A more selective overview and fuller, accurate comparisons would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response follows the table’s company order, so readers can generally connect each set of figures to the relevant company. Basic linking phrases such as “In the 2nd company” and “In addition” also help signal movement between details. However, the writing reads as a sequence of separate notes rather than a clearly organised summary: there is no distinct overview, and the final comparison about high earners is added without being developed or linked to the preceding information. Several sentences run together or have unclear connections, while repeated openings such as “In this company” make the progression mechanical. Grouping the companies by notable similarities or contrasts, and using clear paragraphs for an overview and supporting details, would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing the table, including “staff turnover,” “male/female ratio,” “employees,” and “high income.” These terms make the subject understandable, and you attempt alternatives such as “job holders” and “staff members.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “they hold 8% job holder above 55s” and “staff with highest income are more.” Spelling errors such as “employes,” “additiion,” and “comapny” are noticeable and reduce the clarity and polish of the report. Use standard terms consistently—for example, “employees” and “the proportion of staff in the high-income bracket”—and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and many figures can still be understood despite the errors. However, sentence structures are limited, and errors occur frequently in articles, agreement, and sentence formation. Examples include “information about survey” (missing an article), “there are 56 staff members along which” (an incorrect clause structure), and “their is no any over 55s” (incorrect agreement and construction). Some sentences also lack clear punctuation or contain run-on connections, such as the opening sentence joining the task description directly to the first company’s details. Practise accurate basic patterns such as “The company employs 56 people, 30% of whom are men,” then combine these with a few controlled comparison structures.
