Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the table’s subject and include some relevant comparisons, such as the third company having the largest high-income share (74%) and the fourth having the largest proportion of older staff. However, the overview is unclear and contains a key misreading: the fifth company has the most staff, not the highest male and female percentages, and the first company does not have the highest turnover; its 5% is the lowest, while the fifth company’s 33% is the highest. Several important contrasts are omitted, including the fifth company’s large workforce and high turnover, and the fourth company’s strongly female workforce. To make the summary more complete, select the clearest overall patterns and report figures accurately, distinguishing staff numbers from percentages and identifying which company each comparison concerns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs, so there is some basic organisation. However, the progression between features is not consistently clear: the overview moves from staff numbers to gender, wealth, and turnover without establishing a reliable main comparison, and the final paragraph shifts abruptly from older workers to income. Linking words such as “In contrast,” “While,” and “however” are used, but some do not express the relationship accurately or smoothly. References such as “their staff” and “the others” can also leave the reader unsure which company is meant. Group the information by clear themes—for example, workforce profile and turnover/income—and use explicit company references to make comparisons easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “staff numbers,” “ratio,” “staff turnover,” and “high income,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, making parts difficult to interpret. For example, “best in ranking” is not a natural way to describe the survey results, and “most seen the staff turnover” does not clearly express a rate. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “emplyooes,” “comapny,” “memebers,” and “individulas.” Use precise terms such as “ranked first,” “proportion,” and “turnover rate,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid describing employees as “rich” when the table refers specifically to a high-income bracket.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “While” and a clause beginning “as compared with,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and agreement occur frequently: “it is clear seen” is not a correct construction, “the staff turnover are” has subject–verb disagreement, and “which is accounted 79” is missing a suitable verb pattern. Articles, plurals, and comparisons also need attention, as in “the first company” versus “first company” and “as compared to the others one.” Some sentences are understandable, but these recurring errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise accurate comparison structures and check each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and complete clause.
