Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the table’s subject and include several relevant comparisons, such as the fifth-ranked company having the most employees and the highest turnover, and the third having the largest share of high-income staff. However, the overview is unclear and some key figures are omitted or misreported. For example, the first company’s 30:70 male-to-female ratio is presented as numbers of men and women, and its age profile is described as if all employees were under 35, rather than 77%. The third company’s 74:26 ratio means men are the majority, but its 74% high-income figure is not stated accurately. Covering the main contrasts more precisely and summarising the age and income patterns would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the companies. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, progression is not consistently clear, and the overview sentence beginning “in the number five small company” is difficult to follow. The body moves from one company to another without a clear grouping of comparable features, while “Furthermore” and “however” do not always show the relationship between the information that follows. Some references, such as “this company” and “all the workers,” are also unclear or too broad. Organise the details into logical comparisons—for example, staff profiles first and turnover and income next—and use linking words only where their relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing the table, including “staff turnover,” “employees,” “income bracket,” and “approximately.” This shows an attempt to use task-specific language. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the report difficult to understand. Phrases such as “more staff of members,” “accounted high income bracket,” and “staff is turnover” are not natural ways to describe the data. There are also spelling errors such as “employes,” “hih,” and “brcaket.” Use precise terms such as “workforce,” “proportion,” and “share,” and check spelling and common collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine information using longer sentences, including the sentence about the second company that links its age profile, turnover, and income figures. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some details hard to interpret. Examples include “In first company, has 56 staff member,” “all the employes is under 35,” and “the third company has 72 staff members in this company mostly workers is males.” These show problems with articles, sentence structure, subject–verb agreement, and plurals. There is also inconsistent control of clauses and punctuation, particularly in the long final sentence. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related comparisons while checking that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
