Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant features, including the high staff turnover and large under-35 proportion in the fifth-ranked company, and the greater female representation in the first and fourth companies. However, some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: the fifth company has the most staff and highest turnover, but not the highest male-to-female ratio; the third company has the highest proportion of men. The overview also says the fifth company is “way higher” across several measures, although its high-income share is the lowest. Some rankings are misreported: the third company has the highest high-income share, while the first has the lowest turnover. Select the main contrasts and report the figures accurately to make the summary more complete and clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has separate paragraphs for an introduction, overview and further comparisons, so there is some organisation. You also use linking expressions such as “Overall,” “whereas” and “When it comes to.” However, the progression is difficult to follow because comparisons shift between measures without consistently identifying the relevant figures. For example, the final paragraph mixes turnover rankings with income-bracket rankings, and “3rd and 1st ranks at 2nd and 3rd place in terms of younger colleagues” is hard to interpret. Some linking words are repeated or do not clarify the relationship between points. Group the information by topic—such as workforce profile, turnover and income—and connect each comparison clearly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “staff turnover,” “male:female ratio,” “income bracket” and “younger colleagues.” This gives the response a basic range for describing the table. However, several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, such as “ranks on top,” “ranks are lower side” and “staff members are earning more,” which can make the intended comparison unclear. There are also spelling and form errors, including “memebers” and “otherhand,” and ordinal forms such as “3nd” and “5rd” are not appropriate. Aim for precise reporting language and use consistent terms such as “ranked,” “proportion” and “percentage.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons joined with “whereas” and clauses beginning “when it comes to.” However, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. The opening, “The table illustrates the about the five small companies,” has an unnecessary article and an incomplete construction. Agreement is also inconsistent in “3nd and 5rd company has” and “1st and 4th company has,” while “there are no staff memebers are there” contains a faulty clause structure. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, plural forms and sentence boundaries. Building accurate short comparison sentences before combining them will improve clarity.
