Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the table’s subject and report several relevant figures, including staff numbers, turnover and high-income percentages. The comparison that the fifth-ranked company has the most employees (190) and highest turnover (33%) is accurate, as is the first company’s lowest turnover (5%). However, the overview is unclear and includes a major misreading: the fifth company does not have the highest values in almost every category; it has the lowest share of high-income staff (2%), while the third has the highest (74%). Some data are also described vaguely, such as “similarly fluctuate,” without specifying the comparisons. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the main contrasts and accurately select key patterns, including the age and gender differences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs of details. It also attempts to group information, for example discussing staff numbers and gender/age before turnover and income. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the overview does not clearly state the main patterns, and several links between ideas are unclear. Phrases such as “It started with staff numbers and ended with staff in high income bracket” describe the table’s layout rather than organise a summary. Connectors such as “however” and “similarly” are used without making the relationship between the figures clear. A more logical sequence—overview first, then grouped comparisons with explicit links—would make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “staff turnover,” “male:female ratio,” and “high income bracket,” so the reader can recognise the categories being discussed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. “Perfect to work for” is not a natural description of the survey, while “almost slowly flourish” and “no one alive 55s” do not convey the intended data accurately. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “comanies” and “represted.” Aim for precise, neutral reporting language such as “ranked,” “accounted for,” and “the proportion of employees aged over 55,” and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, and some figures are presented in understandable clauses. However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to interpret. Examples include “the table represent a five companies,” “First companies is constantly remain,” and “staff turnover is stayed top”; these show problems with agreement, articles, and verb forms. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “however” after a full stop and the long sentence beginning “Particularly, 30:70…”. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and use straightforward comparative sentences, for example, “The first company had the lowest turnover, at 5%.” Greater control of basic clauses would make your comparisons clearer.
