Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the table’s subject and report some relevant figures, including staff numbers rising from 56 in the first-ranked company to 190 in the fifth, and high-income staff reaching 74% in third place before falling to 2% in fifth place. However, the overview is unclear and includes unsupported claims, such as saying staff numbers increase across the surveys, when the figures fluctuate before the final company. The account also omits important comparisons, including the very different gender balances and the high turnover in fifth place. Some descriptions are too vague to show the data accurately. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the main contrasts and compare the companies using precise figures. The response is not largely off-topic.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has separate paragraphs for an introduction, an overview and several data groups, so there is an attempt to organise the information. Some progression is also visible: you discuss staff numbers, then income, and finally gender balance. However, the overall sequence is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated, especially the claim that numbers increase, and phrases such as “then next surveys” do not clearly identify which company or ranking is being discussed. The overview does not effectively guide the reader through the details, and the closing “Thats all overall” adds little. Group the main comparisons logically and use clear references such as “the first-ranked company” and “by contrast” to make relationships between figures easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “staff numbers,” “high income bracket,” “percentage,” and “ratio,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and several word choices make the data difficult to interpret. For example, “the quantity and quality decreased” does not accurately describe what the table measures, while “take a position” and “the number of quantity” are unnatural expressions. There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “natinal,” “compnies,” “survay,” and “percenatges.” Use precise terms for the categories and describe changes with verbs such as “rose,” “fell,” or “varied.” Check spelling carefully and avoid repeating “survey” when “company” or “ranking” is intended.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to form longer sentences using sequencing words such as “then” and “and,” but sentence structures are very limited and errors frequently obscure the intended relationships. For instance, “The table gives the information five small companies” is missing a necessary preposition, and “Overall, we have see the first survey 1st take the position” has problems with verb form and sentence construction. Articles, agreement and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “the percentage more increased” and the long, loosely connected sentences in the body. Aim first for accurate simple comparisons: “The first-ranked company employs 56 people, compared with 190 in fifth place.” Then practise adding a correctly formed contrast or subordinate clause, checking verb forms and sentence boundaries.
