Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified some main features, the analysis is incomplete and ends abruptly mid-sentence. The comparison between 1968 and 2018 is attempted, but the interpretation of the data is occasionally inaccurate (e.g., claiming household goods remained unchanged, which is not supported by the data). To improve, ensure you provide a complete overview, cover all significant trends, and ensure the response is of sufficient length to fully develop your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final sentence. You use some cohesive devices like 'Initially' and 'Secondly', but these are used somewhat mechanically. The logical progression is interrupted by the abrupt ending, which makes the overall structure feel unfinished. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, completed conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are instances of imprecise word choice. For example, 'highly evaluated' is not the correct collocation for describing spending percentages, and 'furnitures' is an uncountable noun and should be 'furniture'. Additionally, 'not sufficient' is an odd way to describe the data for fuel and power. To reach a higher band, try to use more precise terminology such as 'accounted for', 'represented', or 'fluctuated' to describe the data trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'spending money on food and leisure categories are clearly high demonstrated' (passive voice error) and 'spending weekly salary by families were top on category' (subject-verb agreement and preposition errors). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the incomplete final sentence. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions when describing statistical data.
