Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the chart’s subject and include several relevant comparisons, such as food being the largest category in 1968 and leisure and housing taking larger shares in 2018. However, the overview is not fully accurate: fuel and power and personal goods were not the only smallest categories across both years, and leisure was not among the largest in 1968. Some figures are also misreported: food in 2018 was about 17%, not 18%; leisure was about 22% in 2018, not 2028; and the claim that five 2018 categories were below 15% overlooks food at 17% and housing at 19%. Select the clearest overall changes and report the figures consistently to make the summary more complete and reliable.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to separate descriptions of the two years. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “On the another hand” signal a comparison. However, progression is not always clear because the overview makes broad claims that are not then supported accurately, and the 1968 and 2018 details are not consistently grouped or contrasted. Linking expressions such as “While” and “Besides” are sometimes used awkwardly or without a clear relationship between ideas. Organise the body around the main changes—for example, categories that rose versus those that fell—and use straightforward, accurate links to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “weekly income,” “percentage,” “Housing,” and “Fuel and power,” so the chart’s subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, including “consumed their weekly revenue,” “most demanded,” and “least position.” These expressions make the description less natural and can obscure whether you mean spending share or demand. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “representd,” “comodity,” “arount,” and “approximatly.” Use precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “share of income,” “highest proportion,” and “lowest proportion,” and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “While” and “where,” and the reader can usually identify the broad meaning. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction and basic grammar. For example, “it can be see” should be “it can be seen,” while “food were highest consumed product” has problems with agreement, articles, and sentence structure. In “Housing were need approximately 18%,” the verb pattern is also incorrect. Some fragments and punctuation choices, such as beginning “another 5 products” as a new sentence with a lowercase letter, reduce control. Practise accurate simple comparisons first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
