Student answer (Band 7.0)
The accesses of tourism between nations and mass development of media has made it easy them ever to know the living standards of people from in other countries. I believe that merits related to this advancement outweigh the demerits.
One of the leading advantages related to it is that it ennancs tourism in a particular nation. Due to mass media and easy travel the tradition or culture of a nation is widely sepreaded by the tourist who already visited there and by the news chanells and famous accounts on social media. It provides a tourist destination to those who wont have a keen desire to explore entire world. Not only this, the tourism also significantly contributes into economy of a nation. As the travellers will spend mony in hotels, foods, buying native dresses etc, which brings more money to country which concequently uplifts the economy.
Along with it, there are few demerits related to this as it can create tensions between two nations. when residents of rich or well-developed nations such as USA have availability of information regarding the living standards of people from poor or developing nations they usally mock them and can make a controvertial statements on internet, which can generate a feeling of hate in the minds of citizens of both nations for each other. Consequently, this feeling of hate indirectly pressurize governments to respond back. Due to this the relations of two nations can be hampered.
To conclude, no doubt there are cons related to the availability of information regarding way of living due to tourism and spread of mass media, such as, it might create controversy between two countries but I believe the merits related to it outve overtook demerits as it can create an exposusure of new travel destination and can boost economy too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas regarding economic benefits and the potential for cultural tension are relevant and supported with examples. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the argument about social media causing international tension could be more nuanced. While the position is clear, the explanation of why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages is slightly repetitive in the conclusion. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and specific evidence rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Not only this', 'Along with it', and 'Consequently', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure is easy to follow, which is a strength of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items like 'controversial', 'uplifts', and 'hampered'. However, there are several spelling errors ('ennancs', 'sepreaded', 'chanells', 'mony', 'concequently', 'exposusure') and word choice inaccuracies ('accesses of tourism', 'outve overtook'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent the message from being understood. Improving spelling accuracy and refining collocations would significantly enhance the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('tourism also significantly contributes into economy') and article usage ('the tourism', 'the economy'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are missing commas in complex sentences. The errors are frequent enough to be noticeable, but they rarely impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, specifically articles and verb forms, while continuing to practice complex sentence construction.
