Student answer (Band 7.0)
The increasing ease of international travel and the widespread of mass media has enabled travellers to learn more about lifestyles and cultures in other countries more than ever before. While the development has some limitations, I beleive the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
One major advantage of the trend is, vital informations people can learn before travelling to other countries. This will promote cultural understanding in advance and will help them to enjoy their travel even more. Mass media heavily provides access to knowledge, education and and global news. This will benefit significant propations of tourists in a terrific way. People can become more tolerant and more open minded. Learning different ethnicities, enhances the persons knowledge.
Another benefit, is it provides better business and job opportunities. People can apply in various different platforms to find jobs or learn more about their business. Toursim can drastically improve a coutries economy as more travellers will come into the country, they will spend money and boost the economy. International students can live after learning about the country they wish to travel.
Nevertheless, this development is not without its drawbacks. Greater exposure to foreign cultures through international travel and mass media may gradually weaken local traditions and cultural identities, particularly among younger generations who are more likely to adopt foreign lifestyles and values. Furthermore, social media and other forms of mass media sometimes spread misleading information or unrealistic portrayals of life in other countries. However, these negative effects can be minimized through education and responsible media consumption, making them less significant than the overall benefits.
In conclusion, although easier international travel and the widespread influence of mass media have certain disadvantages, such as cultural erosion and the spread of misinformation, I believe that their advantages far outweigh these drawbacks. They promote cultural understanding, broaden people's knowledge, and create greater opportunities for international cooperation and personal development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as cultural understanding and economic benefits, though some points, like 'International students can live after learning about the country', are slightly underdeveloped or vague. The argument is generally well-supported, and the conclusion effectively synthesizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that every supporting point is fully explained with concrete examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'One major advantage', 'Another benefit', 'Nevertheless', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the vague use of 'it' in 'Another benefit, is it provides...'. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
The vocabulary is generally sufficient and appropriate for the task. You use some good collocations like 'cultural erosion' and 'misleading information'. However, there are some inaccuracies and awkward phrasing, such as 'significant propations' (likely a misspelling of proportions) and 'terrific way', which is a bit informal for an academic essay. There are also minor errors like 'coutries' instead of 'countries'. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary and ensuring precise word choice would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent minor errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'vital informations' (information is uncountable), 'beleive' (spelling), and 'and and' (repetition). Subject-verb agreement is occasionally inconsistent, such as 'the widespread of mass media has enabled'. Despite these errors, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for small grammatical slips and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement.
