Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of mass media and international travel. However, the development of ideas is quite limited. While you state that the merits outweigh the demerits, you do not actually discuss any demerits, which makes the argument one-sided and prevents a balanced discussion. The ideas provided, such as accessing information about culture or fashion, are relevant but remain at a superficial level. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more depth, explore the potential negative impacts (such as cultural erosion or misinformation), and ensure the conclusion reflects a more comprehensive summary of the points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Initially', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition', but these are often used in a repetitive or slightly unnatural way. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between sentences lacks fluidity. The conclusion is particularly weak, as it contains a repetitive phrase ('In coclusion to conclude') and fails to effectively synthesize the main arguments presented in the body paragraphs. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'get the knowledge', 'get awareness', and 'get access'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'facility of the visit' (which is unclear) and 'expand of knowledge' (should be 'expansion'). You attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary like 'mass media' and 'international reporters', but the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on using more precise nouns and verbs, and avoid repeating the same basic structures throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include incorrect article usage ('the politics', 'the history'), subject-verb agreement errors, and awkward phrasing ('made the things more easier'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas (e.g., 'Initially,it', 'For instance, the'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for punctuation and spacing errors.
