Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify both advantages and disadvantages, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. For example, the point about 'mass media' affecting the new generation is mentioned but not explained in a way that directly addresses the prompt's focus on international awareness. Furthermore, the conclusion is incomplete, leaving the essay without a final summary or a clear, sustained position. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure all parts of the prompt are fully addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt to use paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are often disjointed. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and sometimes inaccurate way, such as 'In addition some going abroad' and 'For instance, in recent years are peoples'. The transition between the advantages and disadvantages is abrupt, and the lack of a proper conclusion further disrupts the flow of the argument. To improve, focus on using linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects back to the main prompt.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'see the living things of other country' and 'fell relaxed to visits the world'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'mssa' and 'categorise'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including collocations and topic-specific terminology, and ensure that your word choices are precise and grammatically appropriate for the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'mass media very important'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'the international travel are resources people's have not specific amount'). The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences with errors in complex attempts. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on the correct use of prepositions and pluralization.
