Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, it has become much easier for people to travel in foregin country and also mass media help to individuals see news through social media and tv. I beleive that benefits of this trend is better than their drawbacks.

The first advantage of this that human can gain better understand through social media. When people visit to internatinal places they know about culture, lifestyle and food of other countries. For example when a person see news about china and japan they can know how to work in different ways as well as they can try o do work in different prepectives .

The second benefit of this economic and education. The easy way travelling give more advantages to student who want to go for there higher study in aboard as well as to promate there work in there field. For instance like most of students want to work and complete there study in foreign country the research conducted in canada in which people can see eaasy way of travel helps to students for there work and study in aboard as well as some of students study and promate there work through social media to international places.

However there are some disadvantages of this because when peoplw spend there most of time to watch tv and news about foreign they want to follow there tradition which is not good for individuals . Moreover second harmful effect of this is toursim become a reason od enivronmental damage as well as overcrowinding in famous places.

In conclusion, there aree some disadvantages of this while , In my opinion it gives more opporunity to those people who want to build there career.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention cultural understanding and economic/educational benefits, the supporting evidence is vague and lacks depth. For instance, the reference to 'research conducted in Canada' is not specific enough to be convincing. The discussion of disadvantages is also brief and lacks sufficient elaboration. To improve, ensure that each main idea is supported by a clear, logical explanation and a concrete, well-developed example rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'The first advantage of this that' and 'The second benefit of this economic and education' are grammatically awkward and disrupt the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'this' without a clear antecedent. While there is a logical progression from advantages to disadvantages, the transitions between sentences and ideas need to be smoother and more varied to achieve a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'foregin country' instead of 'foreign countries', 'promate there work' (likely meaning 'promote'), and 'overcrowinding'. You rely on a limited set of words and repeat them frequently, such as 'there' (used incorrectly for 'their') and 'work'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas, while paying closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'mass media help to individuals see'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'easy way travelling'), and persistent confusion between 'there', 'their', and 'they are'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors.
