Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, most individuals are informed on how other people live in other countries due to international travels and the use of different kinds of mass media. Wherein, advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages.
One of the primary drawback of traveling to other country is the amount of cost which is expensive, and that people need to save more money before planning to migrate or have a tour in different parts of the world. In addition to the disadvantages in mass media would be the biased reports, which is very common in different platforms. Where positive reports and limited stories or events are released to the media outlets.
On one hand, the ease of international travel helps people to visit different countries and learn from them. For instance, some Universities adapt exchange students and international trainings to help upgrade their own schools. In addition, visiting different countries help people to learn their cultures and traditions and also to be able to socialize with foreigners or other nationality even though there are communication barriers. As a result, the learnings and knowledge made from other countries can help contribute to the society and community for improvement.
On the other hand, the importance of mass media is to update people regarding current events and information that will benefit them. For example, mass media is significant to tourists so that they can do their research before visiting other country. Moreover, those people who have family overseas will be updated on what is happening to them.
In conclusion, the advantages of international travel and mass media outweighs the disadvantages since it benefits people and the community.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the advantages are supported with examples like university exchange programs, the disadvantages are less effectively explored. The point about 'cost' is a personal economic issue rather than a societal disadvantage of the phenomenon itself, and the point about 'biased reports' is mentioned but not fully developed. To reach a higher band, ensure that each argument directly relates to the global impact of travel and media rather than individual financial constraints.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In addition', 'On one hand', and 'Moreover', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The use of 'Wherein' at the start of the second sentence is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the flow. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability and logical flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at more sophisticated vocabulary, such as 'migrate' and 'socialize', but the range is somewhat limited. There are also minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'adapt exchange students' (should be 'adopt' or 'host') and 'have a tour' (should be 'go on a tour'). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('One of the primary drawback' should be 'drawbacks', 'visiting different countries help' should be 'helps') and awkward phrasing ('the learnings and knowledge made from other countries'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure occasionally feels repetitive. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
