Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the negative and positive impacts of global awareness. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. The argument regarding the 'poor child' turning to robbery is a significant over-generalization and lacks logical depth, making the position feel underdeveloped. While the essay attempts to cover both sides, the lack of a clear, consistent stance throughout the response makes it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. To improve, you should focus on providing more nuanced, logical examples and ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and maintained throughout the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions between sentences are often mechanical or missing, such as the abrupt shift in the second paragraph. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate, which disrupts the flow of ideas. For example, the phrase 'On the second prospective' is used incorrectly to introduce a new point. Referencing is also unclear at times, making it difficult to track the subject of the sentences. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the expression of complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'take those type life style' and 'To become rich in night'. These errors occasionally impede communication, as the reader must infer the intended meaning. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic with any degree of precision or sophistication. To reach a higher band, you should work on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to replace simple, repetitive terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('they loss their hopes'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing that makes sentences difficult to parse ('People to how the people live who are in other countries'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing around punctuation marks. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, and basic punctuation to improve clarity.
