Student answer (Band 6.0)
The progression of international travel and the coverage of media around the globe has allowed individuals to learn and travel, virtually and physically, and gain knowledge about the lifestyles of people living accross the globe. There are both advantages and disadvantages of this mass cultural homogenization which I will discuss in this passage.
Those who are in support of this progress argue that globolization encourages individuals to share their cultures and creates a bond within people of different cultures. Not only that it can create harmony and stable relations between different nations. People can easily travel to other countries and expand their businesses. Travelling for luxury has also become conveinent and cost effective with varities of airlines and ways of booking. Not only travel, but other sectors like fashion industries and music sectors get connected and bring upon new ideas and ways of entertainment. Another major advantage can be seen in the employment sector as people can work remotely from one country while thecompany is in another. More employment opportunites are available which also effects the economic situations of the country when foreign currencies are exchanged.
On the other hand, people who are not in favor of this statement have a view that traditional culture practices are being overlooked. People are forgetting about their roots and traditions and customs are fading away. Small cultures are already extinct and reviving them now is not possible.
I believe that we should work in harmonization and actively preserve our heritage while also expanding our horizon. The government should promote the cultures and traditions of their nation and invest in it so that we dont forget our roots and can progress while maintaining our integrated roots.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'cultural homogenization' is introduced but not fully explored in terms of its specific impact on society. The argument regarding the loss of traditions is mentioned but lacks concrete examples or evidence to support the claim. While a position is clear, the depth of analysis is limited, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each main idea is supported by a specific example or a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Not only that', 'On the other hand', and 'Another major advantage', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is logical, but the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance, though it introduces a new idea about government investment that was not previously discussed in the body paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'homogenization' and 'integrated roots', though some collocations are slightly unnatural, such as 'bring upon new ideas' or 'work in harmonization'. There are also a few spelling errors, such as 'globolization', 'conveinent', and 'varities'. While these do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise academic vocabulary to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'creates a bond within people' (should be 'between'), 'effects the economic situations' (should be 'affects'), and 'thecompany' (missing space). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some minor errors in sentence construction. While the meaning is always clear, the frequency of these small errors prevents the essay from achieving a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent proofreading for typos would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
