Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes the ease of international travel and the spread of various kinds of mass media all over the world have made it more possible for people to know how people live, spend their time and daily routine in other countries.

In my opinion it has advantages as well as disadvantages.

First we discuss the disadvantages.

In old time when there were no mobiles, internet and other

communication facilities. People still visited their relatives, family and friends. They cover far distances just to met with their beloved ones.

But now mass media completely change this thing. People use their phones to call anyone they want. It completely removes the distances between them, and it also completely remove the divine of their relatives from their heart.

Now people covers the long distances in just few hours. It makes the international travel very easy as compared to the old method of transports. With the help of social media anyone sees all type of videos available videos their. They also check any information on the internet.

This completely removes the divine of searching from their heart.

But the advantages are completely different all the electronic media available today makes the live of people very easy. People gets the information in just one click. They call their beloved ones and talk to them with no interruption. Today era is also called the golden era of media because nothing is hide from anyone.

At the end, I just says that by adapting the technology we forgot the way of spending live.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth and clear development. While you acknowledge both advantages and disadvantages, the arguments are superficial and repetitive. For instance, the claim that technology removes the 'divine of searching' or 'divine of their relatives' is unclear and lacks logical explanation. The essay fails to provide concrete examples or evidence to support the points made. To improve, you should focus on developing each point with a clear explanation and a relevant example, ensuring your position is consistent throughout the essay. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into short paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'First' and 'But'. There is a lack of logical flow between sentences, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. For example, the transition between discussing the lack of communication in the past and the ease of modern travel is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'divine of their relatives' and 'nothing is hide from anyone', which impede clarity. You rely on simple, everyday language and struggle to express more complex ideas accurately. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic of technology and globalization. Expanding your range of collocations and avoiding literal translations from your native language will significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally make the meaning unclear. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'People gets the information'), tense usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in word order. For example, 'In old time when there were no mobiles' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, including correct verb tenses and pluralization. You should also practice using more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring they remain error-free.
