Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, and a clear position is maintained throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the example regarding physical exercise in Nepal is relevant, the explanation of how mass media and travel facilitate this is a bit simplistic. The discussion on racism is also quite brief and could have been expanded with more nuanced analysis. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored with more depth and specific evidence rather than relying on general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Additionally, the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the sentence 'Every countries have there own cultural and tradition', where the pronoun usage could be smoother. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the range of cohesive devices could be more varied and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'globalization' and 'innovation', but the range is somewhat limited. There are also several recurring errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'non of our lifestyle' instead of 'none of our lifestyles' and 'simple educating' instead of 'simple education'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every countries have'), pluralization ('various kind'), and pronoun usage ('there' instead of 'their'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalization and comma splices. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common grammatical slips to ensure that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
