Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth. While you state your position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, the development of ideas is superficial. You mention travel and media as factors but fail to provide a balanced discussion or specific examples of the 'advantages' and 'disadvantages' as requested. The essay reads more like a description of current trends rather than an argumentative response. To improve, you must clearly outline both sides of the argument and provide concrete evidence or logical reasoning to support your stance. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions between ideas are often missing or mechanical, such as the abrupt start of the third paragraph with 'on other hand'. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate, which makes the flow of the argument feel disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the relationship between the sentences within paragraphs could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words to show contrast or addition. Improving the use of signposting language will help the reader follow your argument more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'stretching of various mass media', 'lifted up sanctions of visa', and 'more crazy to view'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context. Avoid informal phrasing like 'more crazy' and aim for more sophisticated alternatives that convey your meaning with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('has rose', 'media has given'), incorrect verb forms ('are leaving' instead of 'living'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are relatively simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors in punctuation or syntax. For example, the sentence 'However this topic is contentious or debatable from my vantage point I find more favourable to the merits this' is structurally confused. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency and article usage.
