Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the topic but fails to take a clear position on whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The prompt asks for an evaluation, yet the essay merely describes the developments without providing a balanced argument or a personal stance. The ideas are repetitive, focusing almost exclusively on the 'ease' of travel and media without exploring the potential negative consequences (disadvantages) of this global connectivity. Consequently, the response is underdeveloped and lacks the critical analysis required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is limited. There is a heavy reliance on repetitive phrasing, such as 'people can easily travel' and 'mass media all over the world'. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical and sometimes inaccurate way, such as the transition 'However mass medial also help a lot in this', which does not effectively contrast the previous paragraph. The logical flow is hindered by the lack of clear topic sentences and a cohesive argument structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple adjectives like 'easy' and 'important'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'mordent' (likely meant 'modern') and 'medial' (meant 'media'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the essay frequently repeats the same phrases rather than using synonyms or more precise terminology. To improve, you should focus on expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary and using more sophisticated collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Over the time technology is developed very fast' (incorrect tense/preposition), 'it become more easy' (incorrect comparative form), and 'if they had a work their' (incorrect word choice/spelling). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. There is a lack of variety in sentence construction, and punctuation is inconsistent. Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and word order significantly impact the overall quality of the writing.
