Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging the ease of travel and media, and takes a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding social media and e-visas are repetitive and lack depth. For example, the essay mentions 'seeing the world from the comfort of your home' multiple times without exploring the broader societal or cultural implications. The conclusion is brief and does not synthesize the points effectively. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or evidence to support your claims, rather than repeating the same general points about convenience.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices, they are often used incorrectly or sound unnatural, such as 'aims seeing the world from a different lens' or 'get captured through the link of few bottoms'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. The paragraphing is present, but the internal flow within paragraphs lacks the cohesion required for a higher band. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'get captured through the link of few bottoms' (likely meaning 'clicks of a few buttons') and 'counties' instead of 'countries'. The repetition of phrases like 'comfort of your home' and 'ease of' limits the range. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that collocations are accurate. Expanding your range of synonyms for common words will help you express your ideas more fluently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('people lives'), incorrect use of articles, and punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary apostrophe in 'visa's'. The phrase 'ease of been able to' is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb forms, pluralization, and the correct use of apostrophes.
