INTRODUCTION:
Advancement in the trasportation and the the global reach of mass media have made the contemporary world into Global village. People can learn more about other people so abruptly. While this advancement in transportation and mass media has some pross and cones.
ADVANTAGES:
One of the main adavatage is the growth of mutual understanding among the people of different nations, different cast and creed. Its best example can be seen between the imigrants. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as the growth of mutual understanding and the potential for unrealistic expectations. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'youth' and 'Western states' is a bit brief and could have been supported with more specific examples or deeper analysis. While the position is consistent, the argument would benefit from more detailed elaboration to reach a higher band. Overall, the response is relevant and maintains a clear focus throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One of the main advantage', 'However', and 'Moreover', though some are used mechanically or with minor errors (e.g., 'Despite, these concerns'). The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transition between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different sides of the argument. The referencing is generally clear, though occasional awkward phrasing slightly disrupts the flow of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items like 'multicultural', 'mitigated', and 'literacy', which is positive. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'trasportation', 'pross and cones', 'adavatage', 'imigrants', 'abckground', 'litracy') and some word choice inaccuracies (e.g., 'Western states' instead of 'Western countries', 'asserts' instead of 'assets'). These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on proofreading for spelling and refining collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While there is an attempt at complex grammar, there are frequent errors in articles, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions (e.g., 'the the global reach', 'disadvantages must acknowledging', 'despite of knowing'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'The disadvantage tend to stem that how information interpret'. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the essay. The punctuation is generally functional, though there are minor issues with comma usage. Increasing the accuracy of complex structures will help elevate the score.
