Student answer (Band 6.0)
The possibility of people to travel from one nation to the other and the availability of different media has helped people gain more knowledge about the lifestyle of other nationalities.Without any doubt this achievement has more advantages than disadvantages especially focusing on the social media platforms, school programs like Erasmus and football events.
There has been a lot of students travelling to different countries of the the world using the Erasmus program. The Erasmus program grants youth the opportunity to further their studies in another country whilst learning and adapting that country's culture and language. Many students have been able to experience different cultures and norms through this and also they get to have direct insight of other people's lifestyle. This has been a success so far.
Furthermore, the presence of social media platforms like instagram, twitter, youtube have made people have an idea of how other countries across the globe looks like. The emerging of various popular celebrities who posts their lifestyle on the internet whilst having a huge following also helps in navigating this particular issue.
The football events that have been hosted by different organisations has also gave people the chance to travel all over the world.People travel to watch football they also tour the place whilst at it.
Though the advantages are clear there are also shortcomings in this claim since sometimes for example the things that people post on social media are always not true.People filter a lot of things on social media and the results can be biased.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages of international travel and media, while briefly touching upon the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention Erasmus, social media, and football, the explanation of how these specifically allow people to 'know how other people live' is limited. The conclusion is abrupt and lacks a summary of your position. To reach a higher band, you should provide more depth in your arguments and ensure the disadvantages are given a more balanced treatment, as the prompt asks you to weigh the advantages against the disadvantages.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For instance, you rely heavily on simple transitions like 'Furthermore' and 'Though'. Some sentences feel disconnected, such as the transition between the football paragraph and the final paragraph. To improve, try to use a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph flows logically into the next. Referencing could also be improved to avoid repeating the same subjects at the start of every sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'lifestyle', 'norms', and 'navigating'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'the emerging of various popular celebrities' (should be 'emergence') and 'always not true' (should be 'not always true'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic phrasing rather than relying on everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'The possibility of people to travel' (should be 'The possibility for people to travel'), 'the the world' (repetition), and 'has also gave' (should be 'has also given'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor slips.
