Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's time, people now know how other people live in other countries due to the ease of international travel and the widespread of different kinds of mass media globally. In this essay, I will delineate while this development benefits developing countries to learn from the developed countries, however, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
Firstly, one of the most prominent advantage of ease of international travel and spread of mass media have helped growing economies to start businesses. The entreprenuers get inspired from the successful business ideas from the developed countries, which lead increase in employment and innovation in the economy of the country. For instance, in India, Flipkart which is inspired from the concept of Amazon from the US, helped businesses in India go online. Flipkart allowed not only helped local business serve wider customers but also provided employment to various people within the country.
Although the advantages have their merit but this has given rise in migration of people from lower economic country to stronger economic country. Young professionals and students prefer to migrate to developing country because it offer better standard of living and employment opportunities. A particular disadvantage of this is that many growing nations lose the talent which may slow down innvoation and growth of the economy.
In conclusion, while the ease of international travel and spread of mass media helps in bringing new business idea to develooping nations the drawback significant outweight its advantages. As we see high growth in people migrating to developed nations for a better lifestyle which may affect the growth of emerging nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of international travel and mass media, taking a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. The main ideas are relevant, such as business inspiration and brain drain, but some development is slightly unbalanced. For instance, the second paragraph mentions how Flipkart helped businesses go online, but the explanation of the overall disadvantage could be extended further. The writer attempts to cover all parts of the task appropriately, earning a solid Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear overall progression with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Although', and 'In conclusion' are employed to structure the response, though some transitions are a bit mechanical or slightly flawed, such as 'delineate while this development benefits... however, the disadvantages outweigh'. Referencing is generally clear, but occasional minor cohesion slips prevent the text from reaching a higher band. Overall, the logical organization aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, with attempts at less common items such as 'delineate', 'entreprenuers', and 'innovation'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including 'widespread' written as 'widespread of', 'entreprenuers' misspelled, and confusing 'developing country' with 'developed country' in the third paragraph ('migrate to developing country because it offer better standard'). While these lexical errors occur, communication is not impeded, placing the performance at a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('it offer better standard'), article omissions ('give rise in migration'), and awkward phrasing ('the drawback significant outweight its advantages'). Complex structures often contain errors. Nevertheless, the meaning remains understandable throughout, which matches the criteria for Band 5.5.
